Vardhaman Educational & Charitable Trust The Vardhaman Educational & Charitable Trust is a Charitable Trust with IT Exemption under Section 80 G of the I.T. Act. All donations to the Vardhaman Trust are exempt from taxes under Section 80G.
The primary aim of the Vardhaman Trust is reforestation, education, health and welfare and the promotion of social well-being. Towards this end, the Trust has built a Miyawaki forest modelled under the Japanese ‘Miyawaki urban forest concept’ where strategic centres of land are identified within the city limits and dense forests are made to provide pure air and a healthy atmosphere for birds and human beings.
The first Miyawaki forest has been set up by the Vardhaman Trust under the banner ‘SCS Vivekananda Vrikshalaya’, where hundreds of varieties of indigenous trees have been planted and is now a thriving Miyawaki forest in Urwa, Ashoknagra, Mangaluru. A second, full-fledged Miyawaki forest is being set up in Shaktinagar, Mangaluru by the Vardhaman Trust.
Vardhaman Trust has also been regularly organizing talks by eminent, erudite scholars and men of learning and accomplishment to develop nationalistic views, inspiring youngsters to aim high and to develop pride in the national values and culture of Bharat.
Development without considering aesthetic & humanitarian values and reverence for nature that includes soil, rivers, trees and respect for all forms of life is lop sided development. Such development that demands modernization at the cost of nature and with a lack of respect for life forms is only detrimental to the health and well-being of the humanity and the society at large. We firmly and sincerely believe that development must be rooted in the overall wellbeing of all beings.
